Pencil Drawings
Cold Seagull
I went to Maroubra beach to draw the view but ended up wanting to draw a seagull instead. Since it is winter, the seagulls all puff their chest out and bring their neck down to stay warm. I really enjoyed drawing this piece, even as I struggled to draw the beak.

Ram Skull
I used an online image of a ram skull as a reference. I really like the effect white on black has in this drawing, I think it amplifies the effect of the bone texture. I wish the curvatures of the horns had more dimensionality to them.

The Opera House
I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art to get some inspiration and sketch some of their new artworks. But the first thing I did was go to a cafe on the roof of the Museum of Contemporary Art, where I ended up sketching the majesty view of Sydney’s iconic building: The Sydney Opera House. While drinking a mocha and munching on some fish’n chips.

Rope And Chain
Using some online references, I practiced drawing various ropes and chains. I found drawing the rope bend or loop was more difficult than I had anticipated.

Balloon Animation
Practicing animation per shot of a balloon being inflated and then the pressure sending it flying away. I wanted to continue the animation with it swirling around, back and forth, in and out of camera.

Shell Pattern
Drawing a gorgeous beach shell with all its outer details.

Doc Martens
Drawing of my own favourite shoe. I am fond of this drawing, although there is a slight issue. The shadow on the toe area makes the front of the boot a look relatively sharp.

Pillow Movement
Practicing giving emotion to a inanimate object. Note to self: I should do more of these.

Rockface Hole
On an excursion to Cockatoo Island I sketched a electrical hole that was under construction. I was oddly charmed by it. Even though there were so many other stunning landscapes around the island. I do not know why, but that hole in the wall still appeals to me.
